Our Force Calibration Services

Force measurement plays a critical role across industries such as materials testing, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and construction.

When force instruments drift out of specification, the consequences can include invalid quality data, compromised structural assessments, safety hazards, and expensive product failures. The Accredited Labs network offers comprehensive force calibration services that keep your instruments performing within their required accuracy ranges.

Our Process

Force calibration involves verifying and adjusting instruments that measure tension, compression, push, and pull forces across defined measurement ranges. Each device is compared to certified reference force standards with known, traceable values to identify any deviations from its intended performance.

Skilled technicians apply precisely controlled forces throughout the instrument’s full range, document all variations, and may make the adjustments needed to restore accuracy. If an instrument cannot be restored to the required accuracy range, you receive detailed reporting with the data necessary for corrective action, maintenance planning, or replacement decisions.

All force calibrations follow internationally recognized protocols that promote consistency, reliability, and complete measurement traceability. Each instrument is returned with documentation linking its accuracy to national force measurement standards—supporting quality management systems, safety regulations, and testing requirements.

Types of Force Measuring Instruments We Calibrate

Our comprehensive force calibration services cover the complete spectrum of force measuring technologies used across industries:

  • Load Cells and Force Transducers: These electronic sensors convert mechanical force into electrical signals and are used in countless applications from weighing systems to structural monitoring. Calibration ensures accurate force-to-signal conversion across the full measurement range and various loading conditions.
  • Mechanical Force Gauges: Spring-loaded and dial-type force gauges provide direct mechanical indication of applied forces. These instruments require calibration to verify scale accuracy, hysteresis, and repeatability across their measurement range.
  • Digital Force Gauges: Electronic force measurement instruments with digital displays offer high accuracy and data logging capabilities. Calibration verifies both the force sensor accuracy and electronic processing to ensure reliable measurements.
  • Tension and Compression Testing Machines: Universal testing machines and specialized force testing equipment require calibration of their force measurement systems to ensure accurate material testing and quality control measurements.
  • Dynamometers: These instruments measure force, torque, or power in rotating machinery and require specialized calibration procedures to verify their accuracy under dynamic loading conditions.
  • Torque Wrenches and Force Application Tools: Tools that apply controlled forces or torques require calibration to ensure they deliver the specified forces necessary for proper assembly and fastener installation.
  • Crane Scales and Lifting Equipment: Force measurement devices used in material handling and lifting applications require calibration to ensure safe load monitoring and capacity verification.
  • Push-Pull Gauges: Handheld instruments used for component testing, quality control, and field measurements require regular calibration to maintain their accuracy and reliability.
  • Strain Gauge Instrumentation: Force measurement systems based on strain gauge technology require calibration of both the sensors and signal conditioning equipment to ensure accurate force measurements.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Force Systems: Force measurement systems that use fluid pressure to generate or measure forces require calibration of pressure sensors, force calculations, and system calibration factors.
